Children will be able to touch live animals and will learn how these animals survive in a watery environment. This is a program presented by the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center. We’ll be setting up some of your favorite games from the show for you to try on Thursday, July 29th from 5-7pm. It will be held at the VFW Post Pavilion, rain or shine. Pizza, soda, and snacks will be provided! This is an event for ALL AGES, from children to seniors. It’s sure to be a great time and hopefully one of our biggest events this summer!

It will resume on Friday mornings at 10:00am beginning September 10th.  Some easy activities and coloring sheets have been prepared for preschoolers  and their parents who continue to visit the library on Friday mornings throughout the summer.

Be sure to watch for announcements of family programs being scheduled during the summer.

We hope to see everyone back for  story hour in September!

Join us at the Poestenkill Library on Thursday, July 8th at 6:30 for a presentation about “Staying Safe in the Outdoors”, a program presented by the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center.
Information will be given on rabies, Lyme disease, and West Nile Virus. Participants will learn about what to look for, how to protect themselves, and be able to feel secure venturing outdoors this summer. The program will be presented in a hands-on, kid friendly way but contains valuable information for parents too. So, bring the whole family!
Space is limited, please sign up ahead of time if possible.

However, we would like to invite you to join us for a Fourth of July Celebration from 9:30-10:30am on the lawn. There will be music, seed launching, and hay bale rolling as well as watermelon and lemonade. Please bring a chair or blanket.
