Spring is Here! New things are happening at the library!!

There are a lot of great things at the library this spring.

1. The Friends of Poestenkill Library Spring Market Day is Saturday, May 6th from 9am to 1pm. This great event is held on the lawn at the library and wonderful bargains can be found on books/CDs/DVDs, collectibles, plants, and gently-used scarves/handbags/jewelry. A delicious selection of baked goods will be for sale on the front porch of the library. Donations of items in good condition are appreciated. Help is also needed to set up at 7am and to help take down at 1pm. We hope to see you! Rain date is May 7.

2. A new evening Preschool StoryTime will begin on Thursday, April 13th. It will be held from 7-7:30pm on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month through the end of June. Thank you to Alene Onion for offering to do this for the preschoolers in the community.

3. The Friends would like to have a logo to represent the organization. They are holding a Logo Design Contest. Please see the post below this one for details. Deadline 5/13/17.

4. The 6th Annual Leo B Clement Memorial Scholarship is open. This is a generous $500 award. See details in the post below. Deadline 5/31/17.

5. The cake pan collection is growing! We have added a giant cupcake pan, set of 4 square pans & set of 4 round cake pans – 3″ deep – 4″, 6″ 8″ & 10″ each set, and a teddy bear pan to the collection. Other shapes include a book, Tweety Bird, Elmo, Garfield, Superheroes, bunny, horseshoe, and many more. Watch for more to be added. You may check them out for a week.
