The Library Expedition is a fun challenge for families and adults related to libraries, road trips, and rewards. There are 29 public libraries in Albany & Rensselaer counties, but there are 36 buildings when you include the branch libraries. The challenge is to visit all 36 and become a 36er!
Beginning September 1, a team or an individual can stop into any of the 36 library buildings in the Upper Hudson Library System and pick up a map designed to show you where all the libraries are located. Then, as you visit each library, you will find out what is unique about the library, what resources they have, and what special collections they may offer. Have your map stamped at each library and earn prizes at the levels for 5 visits, 15 visits, 25 visits and, of course, 36 visits! You will be a 36er!!
Visit www.ulhs.org/expedition for more details and a list of all the libraries, their hours, and places to eat in the area. You can also post photos to the site.
Don’t forget to take a photo of yourself or your team at each library! At Poestenkill Library, you can take a photo by the signs in both the front and back of the building. And don’t forget to sign our guest book. Have fun!
