Reminders for May!

The Library is opened regular hours – no appointments needed. At this time, masks are still required.
-We are not in the position of monitoring who, among the public, is vaccinated. We will not be asking patrons about their vaccination status or allowing patrons to be exempt from mask-wearing if they show their vaccination record.
-We have many visitors under the age of 12.
-We will continue to monitor directives and guidance from federal, state, and local entities as we evaluate our mask policy going forward. As vaccination rates increase and COVID cases in the community decrease, our policy may change quickly.

$1,000 Clement Scholarship applications are due by May 31st! See the April 3rd post for details!

The Story Walk has been installed at the Poestenkill Community Forest on Legenbauer Road. It is on the newly updated, accessible Dorothy’s trail. The book is A Log’s Life. Thank you to the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance for allowing us to have the Story Walk on the trail. Thank you to Jeff Briggs, Lianne & Bill Thompson, Nate Jamison, and LouAnne Lundgren for installing the 16 stakes and pages of the Story Walk. The materials were provided through a grant from the Upper Hudson Library System.

The posting for a new director closes on May 31st. Please see the link in the right column – Poestenkill Library Director Job Description – for more details.
