The Poestenkill Library offers 3 Dell computers with high-speed Internet access for public use in our Technology Room.
The public use computers in the Technology Room have:
- Full Internet access, according to the library’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy
- Word Processing software – using Microsoft Word
- Spreadsheet software – using Microsoft Excel
Patrons may print to an HP laser printer at a nominal cost of $0.10 per printed page.
Internet Policy and Parental Permission for Internet Use
The Poestenkill Library Board of Trustees has adopted an Internet Acceptable Use Policy for the computers available for public use at Poestenkill Library. Patrons under the age of 18 must have the above form signed by a parent or guardian before they can utilize the computers at the library.
The Poestenkill Library can provide patrons with a free wi-fi hotspot. The service may be accessed in the library but the signal extends to the parking lot for use when the library is closed.
The Library owns a MakerBot 3D Printer that is available for the public to make 3D objects in plastic.
