The library will be open today for regular hours. Please note that the delivery of requested items from other libraries did not happen yesterday nor will it happen today due to the weather. We apologize for the delay in getting you any materials you may be waiting for. The delivery service should be good to go tomorrow. We will call you as soon as your items arrive.

Check out some of the services you can access from this page! Flipster for 100s of magazines; Mango Languages to learn a new language or brush up on one learned long ago; Overdrive for audiobooks, ebooks, and some movies. You can also search the catalog and reserve items to be delivered right to Poestenkill Library. We’ll call you when they arrive!

Enjoy the quietness of a snowstorm and catch up on some reading/listening of those books you haven’t had time to get to!

Library open on Monday, 2/20.

The library will be open on Presidents’ Day from 10am to 1pm. In addition, there is a drop-in craft available all this week in the children’s room. Sara has also assembled a limited number of take-home craft bags for the week – 1 per child please, while they last – ask at the desk.

We have many new books and DVDs to choose from – for all ages and interests! Why not take the 2017 Book Challenge and read some books that are not typically on your list or usually of interest to you? Pick up a reading challenge list near the 14 day books and expand your horizons!!

TODAY!! – 2nd Annual Chocolate Friendzy Yummy!

Join The Friends of Poestenkill Library on Saturday, February 11th for a chocolate feast at the library. From 1pm-3pm, there will be chocolate delights offered in almost every room of the library! The popular chocolate fountain will have lots of delicious selections to dip into it – fruit, cookies, marshmallows, pretzels, potato chips and much more! Many other samples of delectable goodies are offered for your tasting for just a fee of $5.00 per person, $15 per family. The Friends are also holding a bake sale so you can take even more chocolate home with you!
Judy Grattan has created a beautiful basket of chocolate deliciousness to be raffled off at the event. Tickets are available now through the end of the event on the 11th at the library.

Chocolate Friendzy takes place during Love Your Library Month! What a great family event to show your support of the library and maybe get something delicious for your Valentine!
