The Friends of Poestenkill Library are busy gathering collectibles, gently-used handbags, jewelry & scarves, and making lists of helpers and bakers for the Spring Market Day. This great event always brings in large crowds as it is one of the first local events of Spring.
From 9am to 1pm, the lawn at the library will be covered in tables filled with basket raffles, books, attic treasures, plants, gently-used handbags, jewelry & scarves, and lots of people! The library porch is the site of the delicious baked goods and coffee.
Donations of plants, baked goods, collectibles, handbags, scarves, and jewelry are welcomed. Help is always needed to set up beginning at 7am and even more so, to take down at 1pm. Please call, email, or stop in the library if you would like to volunteer to help.
The rain or snow date is May 3rd. We hope to see you at the Friends of Poestenkill Library Spring Market Day!

The new automation system will “Go Live” on Tuesday, March 31. In the meantime, you will experience delays in receiving your holds due to the transitions between systems. Please be patient with us. Continue to place holds for items you would like to borrow. If there is an item you need immediately from another library, we can help determine the closest library that has it available if you want to go to the library to pick it up.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience over the next week or so, but it will definitely be worth it! The new system is great and very user-friendly, both for patrons and staff. All your information will just roll over to the new system so you don’t need to do anything to be able your use your card.
