15th Annual Holiday Lights Appeal has begun!

DSC_0140The Friends of Poestenkill Library are pleased to present their 15th Annual Holiday Lights Appeal. The colorful brochures have been mailed. This year’s brochure is being dedicated to the memory of our dear Friend, Eva Gemmill. Eva was the one who discovered this wonderful fundraiser on a trip and inspired us to do it at the library. The story is included in the brochure. This year The Friends have set an ambitious goal of $7,000. They are confident it will be achieved!

If you have not received a brochure and would like to participate there are four options:

  1. Call the library at 518-283-3721 and we will add you to the mailing list and mail a copy right out to you.
  2. Stop in the library and pick up a brochure during your visit.
  3. Download a PDF of the brochure to print at home.
  4. Visit the Holiday Lights page to donate online via PayPal. Please send us a follow-up email with instructions for directing your donation and sending acknowledgments.

The library will be closed on Monday, 10/12, in honor of Columbus Day!

Stop in Saturday to stock up on your weekend books & movies! Don’t forget you can also download books and magazines on your computer and/or mobile devices! Check out the Overdrive link on the right.

Friends’ Fall Market Day – Saturday, September 19

The Friends of Poestenkill Library are working hard to gather everything they will need for a successful Market Day on Saturday, September 19, from 9am to 1pm. The thing they need the most are volunteers to help during set up at 7am and take down at 1pm. Just an hour at either (or both) ends of Market Day are such a big help to everyone.
This year’s Market offers delicious baked goods; gently-used purses, scarves, & jewelry; puzzles, puzzles, and more puzzles; and, of course, plenty of books! The books are $5.00 per bag, bring your own bag!! There will be beautiful basket raffles and yummy chili & hot dogs!
Stop in on Saturday, September 19th, and join the fun on the green at the library, find great bargains, and lend a hand if you have an hour or so to spare.
Donations of books, purses, scarves, jewelry, and puzzles are welcome. (There will not be collectibles at this Market so please do not drop those items off at the library.)
