Summer Reading BBQ!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 30th at 6pm: SUMMER READING BBQ! The last event of the summer! Bring the whole family down to the library for our “end of summer reading” celebration. Hot dogs, drinks, and snacks will be served. We will be holding the drawings for the teen and adult programs. This is your best opportunity to pick up your completion certificates (Children) and prizes. So that we may plan accordingly, please let us know you’re coming by signing up at the library desk or calling 283-3721. Thank you!

Market Day is a Great Success!

It was a beautiful day on May 5th and the lawn at the library was filled with tables and customers! Thank you to the wonderful Boy Scouts and their families, and to all the other terrific volunteers who came to set up at 7am! It was amazing to watch the tables set up and filled so quickly. Many of the young men and their families have been helping at Market Day for several years and know the most efficient way to get everything done. Well done!!  And then they returned at 1pm to help put it all away!

The Friends of Poestenkill Library are very appreciative of everyone who donated items for the sale or who helped out during the day. And thank you to all the great customers who helped raise a total of $3139.10!

Spring Market Day 2011

The Friends of Poestenkill Library are busy gathering collectibles, gently-used accessories, plants, baked goods, and books – everything they want to offer to the community for the Spring Market Day. Delicious baked goods are sold from the library’s front porch. The Town Green (the library lawn) will be covered with tables filled with thousands of books, DVDS, & audio books (fill a bag for $3), collectibles (great deals can be found here), and plants for your garden. At around 11am you will begin to smell the grilled hot dogs and homemade chili – a very yummy lunch! Themed baskets will be raffled.

Please stop in between 9am and 1pm on Saturday, May 5th (rain date 5/6) and join us for this great community event!
